Drill yourself into a coma

Follow the link to see Cary Kolat (2x National Champion, multiple World/Olympic team member)talk about the importance of drilling and how to drill properly.

How would you rank your drilling habits on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being very poor and 10 being the best? What do you think you do well already? In what areas can you improve your drilling habits to make yourself a better wrestler?

i think i may be 7 or 8 i would say i think it could pick it up more but i think my bottom drilling is around and 8 or 9

I would say about a 6 or a 7. I would say I drill on bottom the best. I also never go to my back while drilling. I think I could improve a lot more by setting up my shots better and staying low the entire time.

Drilling is omnipotent, it builds habits and fabricates your entire arsenal of tools to use on "the vinyl." As far as my drilling is concerned i feel i drill extremely hard and wrestle my butt of in practice. I cannot categorize nor rate my drilling, nobody can ever be a 10 there is always room for improvement in every area of wrestling. In my eyes on a scale of 1-10 im a 0, there is infinite room for improvement never be satisfied always stay hungry for that extra push on your single shot, always strive for that tripwire spring in your standup. I refuse to be satisfied with my drilling or wrestling i want improvement out of everything i do, there are no limits on potential. I need better: technique, timing, shots, offense, bottom movement, chainwrestling....etc etc. No matter how long you wrestle you cannot master the sport, you can always improve keep reaching for the stars.

I think that i'm honestly prob about a 4 or a 5.. I have to work on really focusing and getting down to working hard to improve myself and improve my drilling partner. Even though i still come to practice every day with the goal to improve myself i just need to bring it to the next level.

I would say I am probably a 6-7....I work hard but i do a lot of the things that i already know and dont venture out enough to new and challenging positions....I think i need to work more on setting up my shots and staying in good position constantly.

I think i'm probly at a 6. I feel like i've improved my practice habits since last year. My strong point of practice now is that I am smarter about the moves i try and situations that I get into. I dont try to force shots anymore and i've been getting better at set ups. I think I need to work on intensity though because that will help with conditioning and also it will help to get more reps in when we drill stuff.

I'd say probably somewhere between 6 and 8. I'm good from everywhere but not great. I need to especially focus on holding stance when we drill from the feet.

I would say my drilling is a lousy 5 or 6, when we go live its more of a 7 or 8 but drilling is pretty bad. I think my drilling habits could get better with just the from feet perspective. And my best area is probly my down, i mean im not the best reversal guy, or escape guy but i dont get turned very much.

I would have to say a 5 or 6. I know there are day when we all dont wanna be at practice. But, I just need to buckle down and work harder so myself, and the team can keep improving.
