The Price

One of Vince Lombardi's famous quotes was, "In order to achieve greatness, you have to pay the price." What do you think this quote means for YOU personally? In order to achieve greatness, what does our TEAM need to do specifically?

i think the to have greatness you must give up some things or do things you are not to happy about doing like cutting weight no one likes it but to help out the team/yourself you gotta do it. It can also mean putting in hours and hours of training

Alot of people in the world wake up and live their lives in seek of the medium, the standard way of living and working and average existence if you will. Some go through life seeking to be unique or be special people and that is a wonderful thing. Few strive and achieve greatness. There is a reason that there is only 1 dan gable, there is a reason that there is only 1 Rulon gardner. Hard work, dedication, mental strength, an iron will. They feed into your success. Not every individual has the physical or mental capacity to pursue goals and dreams that are "impossible." When you have the goal of greatness there will always be cants and impossible written everywhere on it and it is up to the "daydreamer" to find the courage to run down their dreams, it is up to that dreamer to find the will to reach through the flames and grasp their wildest ambitions. Dare to be great, dont ever let anybody tell you no. "courage is not the mighty oak that has seen countless storms pass, courage is the delicate rose that blossoms in the heart of winter." If you have a dream or a vision protect it, keep it alive. Im sure Rulon would have a million bucks if he got a dollar everytime someone doubted he would medal at the olympics after he lost part of his foot. I am rambling on i know but greatness is for those who truly work and are not afraid to catch their dreams. I may not be great but i believe in myself and i believe in each and every member of my team. Dont ever stop dreaming, "shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will still be amongst the stars."

in order to achieve greatness or come close you and your teammates have to work as one to achieve the highest possible goal...YOU AND YOUR TEAMMATES must put in endless hours on the mat or anywhre you participate in the sport....MORAL OF THE STORY GET OUT THERE AND WORK WE NEED SOME WINS

I think that everyone on our team has the potential to obtain greatness. obtaining greatness might not mean winning state or winning every watch, but we all can obtain greatness through the way we act on the mat, at home, or in school.. even if it means keeping your cool after a tough loss. or staying home from a party to finish studying for a big test.. If we work our hardest and stay positive we all can obtain greatness.

There are many meanings of greatness and there is one that I have come to like. It is if you can look into the eyes of your teammates/coaches/fans/and yourself......and honesltly be able to say that you could have done nothing more to improve yourself. Very few people have the right to say they have achieved this feat......And to do so some day would be and incredible story.

i think that the sacrifice we make is many things. It includes time, effort, focus, and energy, among many other things. But with great sacrifice comes great reward so the more we give to the sport, then the more we will be rewarded by it. The reward isn't necessarily winning either. It is also developing a strong mentality that can take you far in every aspect of life.

I believe that everyone is born with the ability to be great. It's what you do with your talents that sets you apart from everyone else. Like Kashi said there is only one Dan Gable. That is because he spent hours on end doing the things no one wanted to do like basic stance and motion. Not everyone has to be great at wrestling but in order for our team to be great we all have to strive to be the best.

greatness is in everyone of us it is the hard work and will power that polishes and reveals it.
As a team i would like to see more morning lifts and i would like to see some of the JV and younger guys start to come and prepare themselves for next year when they need to step up to the plate because we all know the majority of our team right now is seniors.

I think paying the price for me is spending more time working on my shots. To achieve greatness, our team needs to be looking to score more. We need to win the matches were supposed to, and dig deep in the ones were not.

To achieve greatness, our team needs to work, work, work, work. You must train like a champion to become a champion. We need to push one another in the practice room to get better, help our team mates when they need help, and respect each other.
